New Astro Turf Facility : 16 Feb 2010
Berkhamsted Raiders CFC and Ashlyns School have joined forces to deliver BerkoAstro, a community project to provide a floodlit full size 3G pitch and training facilities at Ashlyns School, Berkhamsted. The development is deemed as a high priority one and is fully supported by the Herts FA. Given the lack of such facilities in our area, we are confident of obtaining a matching grant from the Football Foundation. The final funding is being put in place; BerkoAstro should be open late in Autumn 2010.
Details of the BerkoAstro project can be found here - BerkoAstro.
Expressions of interest
We are finalising our business plan for the new facility, and are requesting expressions of interest from local clubs. Obviously, the level of interest will also assist in our application to the Football Foundation.
The new 3G surface will be available evenings and weekends for club use up until 10pm. The full size match pitch can accommodate three training pitches. The facility will be priced competitively in relation to other all weather facilities, and preferential rates will be available for Charter Standard and Community Clubs. Prices will be confirmed at a later stage.
Would this new 3G facility in Berkhamsted be of interest and of benefit to your team or your club?
If your club is interested in this new facility, please respond to this email by Monday March 1st outlining:
· The number of training slots (one team per slot) that would be interested in making use of the facility.
· Your preferred times for these slots.
Clubs that express a firm interest at this stage will be given preference on times when the facility is open.
Expressions of interests should be submitted by Monday March 1st.
