2010 Presetation Evening
The Comets Sports Club presentation evening is an annual event arranged by the club to celebrate all that is the best about the Comets club, and announce the various players and club members that were nominated for awards.
The club gives various awards for:-
- Long Service, must be in the U14’s and above and have played for the same team continuously for 7 years.
- Nursery Club Member of the Year.
- Junior Club Member of the year.
- Senior Club Member of the year.
- Goalie of the year.
- Manager of the Year.
Not all awards are made annually. They are only made when some one of note comes to the attention of the club presentation evening sub committee or the club in general.
Each team also gives three awards. These are:-
- The Players player, decided by the team themselves.
- Player of the year, decided by the team management.
- Most Improved Player, decided by the team management.
This year the evening was held again at Longdean (The clubs third year) and the club were pleased to have two special guests to hand out awards and meet the team and players.
The first guest was Lee Grant who currently plays as a Goal Keeper for Sheffield Wednesday, and has played for the England Under 21’s. A local, born and bred in Hemel Hempstead and a Watford fan, he joined Derby County as a trainee in 2000, and played for Burnley and Oldham Athletic (On Loan).
The clubs second guest was another Lee, but Lee Hodson of Watford FC as a right back on a three year contract. Being from Northern Ireland, Lee Hodson has represented Northern Ireland at both the U19 and U21 levels.
